Microsoft License Mobility Program
Canon Business Services Australia (CBSA) is a Microsoft Authorised Mobility Partner, enabling clients to utilise Microsoft's License Mobility through Software Assurance. This partnership allows organisations to transfer eligible Microsoft server application licenses to authorised cloud service providers without incurring additional licensing costs, provided they have active Software Assurance coverage.
By partnering with CBSA, customer organisations can effectively manage their Microsoft licenses in the cloud, ensuring both cost savings and operational efficiency.
License Mobility
Microsoft License Mobility is a feature of Microsoft's Volume Licensing that allows customers to move eligible server application licenses to shared infrastructure environments, such as the private hosting providers, without purchasing additional licenses.
This benefit is available to Microsoft Volume Licensing customers with eligible server applications covered by active Microsoft Software Assurance (SA) contracts.
Not only will License Mobility make the transition easier for existing SA customers, but it also provides customers who prefer to purchase perpetual licenses the ability to continue doing so while still taking advantage of the efficiencies of cloud.
Benefits
- Cost savings: Businesses can reduce costs by utilising existing eligible licenses rather than buying new ones for cloud environments.
- Hybrid cloud flexibility: Allows organisations to leverage both on-premises and cloud infrastructures seamlessly, enabling hybrid cloud strategies.
- Investment protection: Helps protect the investment in software licenses by extending their usage to cloud environments.
