Across the Lower, Lower Middle and Upper Middle quartiles we see a general balanced men-to-women ratio. The Upper quartile is predominantly made up of our IT professionals, a demographic that, industry-wide, is male-dominated. This impacts the median gender pay gap, as these positions often attract a higher level of earnings, reflecting market rates.
Despite the gender balance for pay in the lower quartiles, CBSA’s male-dominated technology roles mean we have gender balance in the Upper quartile, impacting the overall result.
CBSA is a diverse and complex business, so employees sit across some very different industry categories. For this report CBSA is only compared to one industry (Administrative and Support Services), which does not reflect IT professionals.
CBSA recognises that there is a significant imbalance of women at the executive level, so there is still work to do, however the initiatives we have put in place are starting to show progress towards creating equity in our workplace. To continue our progress, in 2026 Canon is implementing reforms to Canon Oceania’s Talent Acquisition Policy, increases to paid parental leave and increased support for people experiencing family and domestic violence.
Ongoing, CBSA will continue to focus on initiatives that will close the gender pay gap and create equity in our workplace.
